About Entertainment Districts

Casino entertainment districts are the concentrated zones of hotels, casinos, restaurants, and entertainment venues that define the world's major gaming destinations. Understanding the geography and character of each district is essential for planning a casino trip.

The Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip (officially Las Vegas Boulevard South) is a 7-kilometre stretch running from the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign in the south to the Stratosphere Tower in the north. Thirty-plus major casino resorts line the boulevard, including Bellagio, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Wynn, Venetian, Mandalay Bay, and the ARIA at CityCenter. The Strip is pedestrian-friendly with elevated walkways at major intersections; free trams connect Excalibur-Luxor-Mandalay Bay and Bellagio-Aria-Crystals, while paid monorail runs along the eastern side.

Macau: Cotai vs Peninsula

Macau's gaming geography divides into two distinct zones: the historic Macau Peninsula (connected to mainland China by bridge) with its older casinos (Grand Lisboa, Lisboa, Wynn Macau) and the newer Cotai Strip on reclaimed land between Taipa and Coloane. Cotai hosts the modern mega-resorts (Venetian Macao, Galaxy, Studio City, City of Dreams, Parisian, Four Seasons). The two areas are connected by shuttle buses from the ferry terminals; travel time is 15-25 minutes depending on traffic.

Singapore: Marina Bay and Sentosa

Singapore's gaming district is split across two integrated resort sites that cannot by law be geographically adjacent (to limit the concentration of gambling). Marina Bay Sands sits on reclaimed land on the city centre waterfront; Resorts World Sentosa is on the leisure island of Sentosa, connected to the main island by causeway, cable car, and monorail. The waterfront promenade connecting MBS to the Singapore Flyer and Gardens by the Bay is one of the most spectacular urban walks in Asia.

Atlantic City: The Boardwalk

Atlantic City's famous Boardwalk (a 10-kilometre wooden promenade along the Atlantic Ocean beachfront) defines the city's gaming geography β€” most major casinos are either directly on the Boardwalk or within 200 metres of it. The boardwalk connects the Borgata (technically in the Marina District, accessible by a 10-minute walk or jitney), Hard Rock, Ocean Casino, Tropicana, and Caesars. The Steel Pier amusement park at the Boardwalk's midpoint is a historic Atlantic City landmark.
