Reeperbahn is Europe's most famous entertainment street — a kilometre-long St. Pauli strip of bars, music clubs, theaters, cabarets, and late-night venues that has been the nightlife center of Germany's greatest port city since the 19th century. Most famously, the Beatles spent 1960-62 playing residencies here at the Indra and Kaiserkeller clubs before conquering the world — a history commemorated throughout the street. Today the Reeperbahn hosts the Reeperbahn Festival (Europe's largest club music showcase) and remains one of Europe's most energetic and diverse entertainment corridors.
