About Bangalore Turf Club
The Bangalore Turf Club (BTC) at Nandidurg Road has been operating since 1921 and takes advantage of Bangalore's year-round mild climate to offer two major racing seasons — summer (February–May) and monsoon (September–October) — making it one of the few tracks in Asia capable of sustained year-round turf racing. The track hosts the Bangalore Derby, the Indian Oaks (alternating with Mumbai), and several valuable stakes races that attract the best horses from India's various racing centres. The BTC has been the launch pad for several of India's most successful horses, and its breeding community has produced thoroughbreds that have competed at stakes level in the Middle East and, occasionally, in Europe.
