About Bjerke Travbane
Bjerke Travbane in Oslo is Norway's most important harness racing venue and the centrepiece of Norwegian trotting culture. The track hosts the Norsk Kriterium — Norway's most prestigious trotting race for three-year-olds — and the Oslo Grand Prix, which regularly attracts Scandinavian and European trotters. Norwegian trotting betting is operated through Rikstoto, the national totalisator, whose V75 (seven-race jackpot) pools on Saturday afternoons generate substantial national participation. Bjerke's modern facilities, floodlit track, and proximity to central Oslo make it the most accessible major racing venue in Scandinavia outside Stockholm. The track has hosted European Trotting Union (EUT) events and serves as Norway's representative in international trotting competitions.
