About Busan Gyeongnam Racecourse
Busan Gyeongnam Racecourse, operated by the Korea Racing Authority in Busan on South Korea's southeastern coast, is the country's second major race venue after Seoul. The track opened in 2005 with a 1,800m main dirt circuit and was specifically designed to attract international horses and visitors. The Busan Mayor's Cup and other feature races at the track offer strong prize money that makes the venue competitive with Seoul's programme. Busan's location in one of South Korea's most dynamic cities — and its modern facility with extensive public amenities — makes it a popular day-out destination for the Busan metropolitan area's 3.5 million residents.
