About Jockey Club de São Paulo
The Jockey Club de São Paulo in the Cidade Jardim neighbourhood operates Brazil's second major racing programme alongside Rio de Janeiro's JCB. The track hosts the Grande Prêmio São Paulo, the GP Cruzeiro do Sul, and a year-round mixed programme of flat races. The turf circuit — a right-handed oval of 1,800m — hosts the bulk of Brazil's non-Classic racing and serves as the primary training base for São Paulo metropolitan connections. Brazil's racing industry has a long history of importing North American bloodlines through stud farms in São Paulo state, producing a domestic thoroughbred population capable of competing at South American and occasionally world championship level.
