Seeb Racecourse

Seeb Racecourse in Muscat is Oman's primary horse racing facility, operated by the Royal Oman Racing Club (RORC) under the patronage of the Omani royal family, which has deep historical connections to the Arabian horse breeding tradition of the Gulf peninsula. The track runs both thoroughbred and purebred Arabian racing programmes across the October-April winter season, benefiting from the milder temperatures of Muscat's coastal climate relative to the summer heat that makes racing impractical from May through September. Seeb hosts the HM Cup — the most prestigious race in the Omani calendar — alongside regular Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) meetings that bring horses from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait to compete in regional championship races. The Arabian horse racing programme at Seeb is of particular cultural significance to Oman, which maintains one of the Gulf's most respected Asil (purebred) Arabian breeding programmes.
