About Seoul Racecourse Park
Seoul Racecourse Park in Gwacheon, 15km south of central Seoul, is operated by the Korea Racing Authority (KRA) and is one of the largest racing facilities in Asia by attendance — drawing over 5 million visitors annually. The track features two courses: the main dirt oval (1,800m circumference) and an inner turf track (1,600m). The Korea Cup (Group 1 equivalent, 1,800m on dirt) and Korea Sprint are the track's premier races and have attracted international starters from Japan, Australia, and the US in recent years. Seoul's racing is notable for its extraordinary betting volume — KRA pari-mutuel pools generate annual wagering in excess of $8 billion, making it one of the world's largest betting markets.
