Singapore Turf Club
The Singapore Turf Club (STC), founded in 1842, is one of Asia's oldest and most respected racing organisations. Kranji Racecourse opened in 1999 as a modern purpose-built facility on Singapore's north-western coast, replacing the historic Bukit Timah track. Racing at Kranji takes place year-round on both turf and Polytrack all-weather surfaces, with international-quality horses from Australia, New Zealand, and occasionally Europe and Japan filling the fields.
The Singapore Airlines International Cup each May — a Group 1 race over 2,000m on turf — is Singapore's most prestigious race and frequently attracts top Australian and European raiders. The KrisFlyer International Sprint, also Group 1, provides a high-speed counterpart to the Cup on the same feature race day. The Singapore Gold Cup in November closes the calendar year with another showcase fixture for the city-state's best horses.
