Hipódromo de La Plata

The Hipódromo de La Plata, situated in the capital of Buenos Aires province approximately 60km from central Buenos Aires, is Argentina's second most significant thoroughbred venue. The track operates as a complementary programme to Palermo, with racing on alternate days providing continuous Argentine thoroughbred action throughout the year. The flat turf circuit hosts the Premio de Honor and other valuable stakes races that form part of the Argentine racing season's middle tier — important form reference points for the Classic generation that ultimately targets Palermo's Gran Premio Nacional in November.
