Charlottenlund Racecourse

Charlottenlund Racecourse, situated in the Charlottenlund Palace grounds north of Copenhagen, is Denmark's second flat racing venue and an important complement to Klampenborg's flagship programme. The course — also administered by Dansk Galop — hosts a summer flat racing programme that provides Classic trial races for the Danish Derby at Klampenborg and a series of stakes races for Denmark's established horse population. Charlottenlund's intimate setting within the Palace parklands gives it a distinctly European character; the proximity to the Palace and its formal gardens makes race days at Charlottenlund a combination of flat racing competition and cultural experience that distinguishes it from more utilitarian racing environments. The course's programme includes handicap races, conditions races, and periodic Group races that serve as form references for the Danish Classics.
