About Casino Municipal de Viña del Mar
Casino Municipal de Viña del Mar is one of the oldest continuously operating casinos in South America, founded in 1930 in the heart of Chile's most beloved seaside resort city. Viña del Mar — the "Garden City" — sits just a few kilometres from Valparaíso on the Pacific coast and has been the summer playground of Santiago's middle and upper classes for more than a century.
The original Art Deco building, renovated and expanded over the decades, houses a casino floor with roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and slot machines alongside a performance theatre that is one of Chile's most historic entertainment venues. The casino is most famous as the home of the Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar — held annually since 1960, it is Latin America's most-watched music competition and television event, drawing audiences across the Spanish-speaking world. During Festival week in February the casino complex is the epicentre of Chilean popular culture.
