About The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Overview

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas opened in December 2010 and immediately became the most buzzed-about new casino hotel in Las Vegas — and perhaps the most stylish casino resort in the United States. Operated today by MGM Resorts International (acquired in 2021 from Blackstone for $1.625 billion), The Cosmopolitan carved out a unique positioning as the "boutique mega-resort" — large enough to compete with Strip heavyweights but with a design aesthetic, art program, and cultural personality that felt genuinely different from the conventional casino formula.

The Cosmopolitan's original concept was conceived as a condominium-hotel project, which explains its unusual layout — rather than a single large casino floor accessed through a hotel lobby, the resort's gaming and amenities are distributed vertically across multiple levels. This creates a more intimate feel in each gaming area and gives the property a genuinely urban energy that distinguishes it from the conventional Strip resort format.

Gaming

The gaming floor across multiple levels features 100,000+ sq ft of gaming space with 1,500+ slot machines and 90+ table games. The layout distributes play across several distinct gaming areas with different atmospheres, from the high-energy main floor to the quieter high-limit rooms. The Cosmopolitan is known for table game minimums that favor value-oriented players relative to Bellagio or Aria.

Hotel & Pools

2,995 rooms across three towers (Boulevard, Chelsea, and Wraparound) include unique terrace rooms with private outdoor space overlooking the Strip. The three-pool experience (Boulevard, Marquee, and Bamboo) on multiple levels includes adults-only options and one of the finest daytime pool experiences in Las Vegas.

Entertainment & Dining

The Chandelier — a three-story bar suspended inside a giant crystal chandelier — is one of the most iconic bar spaces in Las Vegas. Marquee nightclub is one of the top nightclubs on the Strip. Celebrity dining includes Zuma, Eggslut, STK, Secret Pizza (the famous hidden pizza spot), and more than 20 outlets. The Overlook Grill atop the resort provides 360-degree Strip views.
