About Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel

Overview

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel is operated by the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana in Charenton, St. Mary Parish — on the shores of Bayou Teche in the heart of Cajun country. The Chitimacha ("people of many waters") are one of the few Louisiana tribes to have maintained a continuous land presence in their traditional territory — the Chitimacha Reservation is the only federally recognized reservation in Louisiana that occupies a portion of the tribe's original homeland rather than relocated trust land.

The casino serves the Acadiana (Cajun country) gaming market and attracts visitors from Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and the surrounding bayou country communities who want a gaming destination with a distinctly Louisiana personality. The Bayou Teche setting and the Cajun cultural context give Cypress Bayou a regional character that the larger urban casino resorts cannot replicate.

Gaming & Hotel

1,400+ slot machines and 40+ table games. A hotel provides on-site accommodations. The casino's Bayou Teche waterfront setting is among the most evocative of any Louisiana casino.
