The Golden Nugget is the finest casino resort in Downtown Las Vegas and the anchor of the Fremont Street Experience. Originally opened in 1946, the Golden Nugget passed through several notable owners — including Steve Wynn in the 1970s, who used it as the laboratory for the luxury concepts he later scaled into the Mirage and Bellagio. The property is currently owned by Tilman Fertitta (the Houston restaurateur and owner of the NBA's Houston Rockets through Landry's Inc.) and has been extensively renovated under his ownership into its current premium state.

The Golden Nugget's signature attraction — beyond the casino itself — is The Tank: a pool complex featuring a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium you can swim through via a 3-story water slide that plunges through the shark tank. The property also displays the "Hand of Faith," the world's largest gold nugget on public display (61 pounds of gold).

Gaming

The 95,000 sq ft gaming floor is the largest in Downtown Las Vegas and features 1,400+ slot machines and 80+ table games. The poker room is among Downtown's best. The property draws visitors who want a genuine casino resort experience without the Strip price premium.
