Overview

JACK Cleveland Casino is operated by JACK Entertainment in the landmark Higbee Building at Cleveland's historic Public Square — one of the finest examples of casino adaptive reuse of a historic structure in the United States. The Higbee Building opened in 1931 as a premier department store and served Cleveland retail for six decades. Its conversion into Ohio's first casino preserved and highlighted the extraordinary Art Deco architectural details of the original building — the coffered ceilings, marble floors, and ornate facades that make the casino one of the most visually distinctive gaming experiences in the Midwest.

JACK Entertainment (founded by Cleveland businessmen Dan Gilbert and Matt Cullen) was awarded one of Ohio's four casino licenses following the 2009 voter referendum. The company subsequently sold its Cleveland and Cincinnati properties but retained the JACK brand. Cleveland's downtown casino location gives it direct access to the Quicken Loans Arena (home of the Cleveland Cavaliers), Progressive Field (Cleveland Guardians), and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
