Jamul Casino is operated by the Jamul Indian Village of California, one of San Diego County's smallest tribes by membership count but one with a prime location on a dramatic hilltop in the Jamul area — just 20 miles east of downtown San Diego. The casino opened in 2016, making it one of California's newer major tribal gaming operations, and has established itself as a strong competitor in San Diego's crowded casino market.

The property's dramatic hillside architecture and relatively urban San Diego adjacency give it a distinct character among Southern California tribal casinos. The multi-level facility takes advantage of its hilltop site with panoramic views and a striking visual profile visible from nearby Highway 94.
