About Miccosukee Resort & Gaming
Overview
Miccosukee Resort & Gaming is operated by the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida, one of only two federally recognized Miccosukee bands in the United States. Located on the Tamiami Trail (US-41) at the edge of the Florida Everglades, the resort is positioned between Miami to the east and the Everglades National Park entrance to the west — an unusual and ecologically significant location for a gaming resort.
The Miccosukee Tribe is distinct from the Seminole Tribe and historically refused to sign a treaty with the United States, maintaining a fierce independence that continues to define their governmental posture. Their gaming compact with Florida predates the Seminole Tribe's, and the Miccosukee operate under a separate regulatory framework that currently permits Class II gaming (bingo, poker) and non-banked card games under Florida law — without the exclusive banked-game rights the Seminole Tribe achieved.
Gaming
The casino features over 2,000 slot-style Class II gaming machines alongside a busy poker room — one of Miami's most active, running cash games at multiple stakes around the clock. Live bingo is also offered.
Hotel & Golf
The resort hotel provides comfortable accommodations. A golf course adjacent to the resort is one of the few courses in greater Miami offering a true Everglades edge setting. The resort serves both gaming guests and Everglades tourists passing on US-41.
Getting There
Located at 500 SW 177th Ave, Miami, FL 33194, on US-41 (Tamiami Trail) west of Miami. Approximately 25 miles west of downtown Miami. Free self-parking available.
