Mystic Lake Casino Hotel is operated by the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and is the largest casino resort in Minnesota — and one of the highest-grossing tribal casinos in the entire United States. Located in Prior Lake, approximately 25 miles southwest of downtown Minneapolis, Mystic Lake serves the enormous Twin Cities metropolitan area (population 3.6 million) with the only major casino gaming option in immediate proximity to Minnesota's urban core.

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is one of the wealthiest per-capita tribes in the United States due to Mystic Lake's extraordinary revenue — the property generates annual gaming revenue estimated in the hundreds of millions of dollars serving a population catchment that has no other nearby casino options.
