Overview

Palms Casino Resort was purchased in 2021 by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians — a federally recognized California tribe — for $650 million and subsequently underwent a $690 million renovation before reopening in April 2022. The result is one of the most spectacular transformations in Las Vegas casino history: the Palms now houses an extraordinary contemporary art collection (including works by Damien Hirst, KAWS, and Jean-Michel Basquiat), completely rebuilt hotel rooms and suites, and a comprehensive entertainment and dining program that rivals the Strip's finest properties.

The San Manuel purchase marked the first time a tribal nation acquired a major Las Vegas casino, and their investment level reflects a commitment to operating a premium product rather than a value-oriented locals destination.
