Porto Carras Grand Resort is one of the Mediterranean's largest private resort estates, a 5,400-hectare complex on the Sithonia Peninsula of Halkidiki — the three-pronged headland that stretches into the northern Aegean east of Thessaloniki. Originally developed in the 1970s by Greek shipping magnate Yiannis Carras, the resort encompasses three hotels, a 400-berth marina, vineyards producing award-winning Domaine Porto Carras wines, 16 km of beach, and a full-service casino that operates seasonally during the Halkidiki summer (May through October).
The casino floor offers roulette, blackjack, punto banco, and slot machines in an atmosphere that combines the resort's elegant maritime character with full gaming facilities. The Porto Carras casino draws both the resort's international hotel guests and day visitors from Thessaloniki, 1.5 hours north on the peninsula road.
