About Resorts Casino Hotel
Overview
Resorts Casino Hotel opened on May 26, 1978 — the first legal casino in the Eastern United States and the catalyst for Atlantic City's entire modern gaming industry. Originally the Haddon Hall resort hotel (built 1929) and then the Chalfonte-Haddon Hall, the building was purchased and converted by Resorts International. The opening attracted crowds of over 30,000 on its first day. Today, Resorts Casino Hotel operates as an independent casino resort and is designated a New Jersey Historic Site for its role in launching legalized gambling on the East Coast.
Gaming Floor
The casino floor offers approximately 1,700 slot machines and video poker terminals alongside 70+ live table games. Table game offerings include blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat, three-card poker, and specialty games. The casino maintains a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere that appeals equally to casual visitors and regulars seeking a less overwhelming gaming environment compared to larger AC properties.
Sportsbook
DraftKings Sportsbook at Resorts Casino Hotel is one of the most prominent sports betting partnerships in New Jersey. The dedicated sportsbook lounge and the DraftKings mobile app — which launched its legal NJ sports betting from Resorts in 2018 — together provide a full wagering experience on all major sports.
Hotel & Entertainment
The Resorts Casino Hotel offers 942 guest rooms and suites in its Rendezvous Tower and Ocean Tower. The historic Superstar Theater — an intimate 1,400-seat showroom — has hosted legends including Frank Sinatra, Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson, and Robin Williams over the decades and continues to present major touring acts. LandShark Bar & Grill on the Boardwalk is one of Atlantic City's most beloved outdoor dining and entertainment venues.
Dining
Dining options include Capriccio fine Italian dining, the 24-hour Breadsticks Café & Deli, the Beach Bar (seasonal), and multiple casino-floor bars. The property's Boardwalk location puts guests steps from Atlantic City's broad array of additional dining and entertainment options.
Getting There
Located at 1133 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Accessible via the Atlantic City Expressway. A parking garage is connected to the property with valet available.
