Resorts World Genting

Resorts World Genting is Southeast Asia's most visited integrated resort, attracting over 20 million visitors each year to its lofty hilltop location in the Pahang highlands. Opened in 1971 by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong, the complex holds Malaysia's sole casino licence — a situation that gives it a remarkable domestic monopoly.

The casino floor, known as the Genting Grand Casino, is split across two levels and features more than 3,000 slot machines, 500 live-table games (baccarat, blackjack, roulette, and stud poker), and dedicated VIP salons that rival anything in Macau. The resort's unique elevation (1,800 m) keeps temperatures cool year-round, making it a popular weekend escape from Kuala Lumpur, which is only an hour away by car or cable-car gondola.

A major RM 10 billion transformation dubbed "Genting Integrated Tourism Plan" is ongoing; highlights include the Genting Skyworlds theme park and Skytropolis indoor amusement park. The complex already encompasses six hotels, over 200 food-and-beverage outlets, a convention centre, and an arena that hosts world-class entertainment acts.
