VictoryLand, operating at the Macon County Greyhound Park in Shorter, Alabama, has one of the most storied histories in American gaming. The facility runs electronic bingo gaming authorized under a constitutional amendment passed by Macon County voters — a distinct legal framework from the Class III tribal gaming at Alabama's Wind Creek properties. VictoryLand has drawn significant legal attention over the decades, with the state government and courts repeatedly weighing in on the legality of its electronic gaming operations.

History

The Macon County Greyhound Park opened in 1984 and operated live greyhound racing for decades before the sport's decline. Electronic bingo operations expanded to fill the void left by reduced racing activity, and VictoryLand became one of Alabama's most visible gambling facilities — and most contested. The facility's resilience through multiple legal battles and closures has made it a distinctive chapter in Alabama gaming history.

Located at 3501 US Highway 80, Shorter, AL 36075 — approximately 12 miles east of Tuskegee and 30 miles east of Montgomery along US-80. Ample free parking is available on the expansive grounds.
