About Casino Salzburg
Casino Salzburg occupies Schloss Klessheim, a late-Baroque palace on the western outskirts of Salzburg originally built for Archbishop Johann Ernst von Thun in 1700 and later enlarged under Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich. The palace passed through various owners — including use as Hitler's Austrian residence during the Third Reich — before Casinos Austria converted it into a casino in 1977.
The gaming rooms spread through the palace's state apartments, preserving the original stucco ceilings, frescoes, and parquet floors. French and American roulette, blackjack, punto banco, and poker are available alongside a slot hall in the converted outbuildings.
