About Grand Lisboa Palace
Grand Lisboa Palace is SJM Holdings' long-awaited Cotai integrated resort and the most significant new casino development in Macau since the Wynn Palace opened in 2016. The €4 billion complex opened in July 2021 after years of construction and pandemic delays, representing SJM's answer to the Venetian, Galaxy, City of Dreams, and Wynn Palace that had established Cotai as the dominant gaming strip in the world's largest gambling market. Grand Lisboa Palace was designed to cement SJM's position as a Cotai player following its long heritage as the dominant force on the Macau Peninsula through the Casino Lisboa and Grand Lisboa.
The resort's signature 290-metre Grand Lisboa Palace tower — designed by architect Dennis Lau and inspired by the lotus flower that also inspired the Macau Cultural Centre — anchors a complex containing three hotels: the Grand Lisboa Palace Hotel (the flagship), the world's only Karl Lagerfeld–designed hotel (the Karl Lagerfeld Hotel, developed in collaboration with the late couturier before his 2019 death), and the Palazzo Versace Macau (the Italian fashion house's second Asian hotel property). The three brands collectively offer over 700 rooms and suites across markedly different aesthetic visions united by an overarching luxury positioning.
The casino floor — one of Macau's most expansively designed — offers the full complement of baccarat, roulette, blackjack, poker, and electronic gaming machines across multiple themed gaming rooms. The F&B programme includes multiple celebrity chef restaurants, and the resort's retail and entertainment offering positions Grand Lisboa Palace as a destination in its own right within Cotai's intensely competitive integrated resort landscape. SJM's loyal Peninsula Macau customer base, combined with new premium mass and VIP recruitment from Cotai's broader visitor catchment, gives the property a dual-market positioning unlike most of its Cotai competitors.
